Řetízkový steh

Řetízkové stehy vyšívané hedvábnou nití na bavlněné tkanině (Anglie cca 1775)

Řetízkový steh je technika, při které se tvoří výšivkový vzor ve tvaru řetězu z řady smyček.[1]

Technika řetízkového stehu vznikla pravděpodobně v Číně ve 3.–5. století před n. l.[2]

Z technik odvozených ze základního řetízkového stehu se v odborných publikacích uvádí (včetně schematických nákresů) např.:

Splétaný[3], copánkový[4], otevřený[5], květ[6], rozetu[7], stočený[7], pšeničný klas[8], klikatý[9] sinhálský[10], péřový[11], oddělený ("lazy daisy")[12]

Použití řetízkového stehu mimo ručního vyšívání

Technika řetízkového stehu se používá také při strojním šití,[13] strojním vyšívání,[13] paličkování[14] a háčkování[15].
