Galaktické halo
Galaktické halo je víceméně kulová oblast obklopující spirální galaxie včetně Mléčné dráhy. Předpokládá se, že je tvořeno zejména hvězdami, plynem a temnou hmotou.
V eliptických galaxiích neexistuje ostrý přechod mezi galaktickým diskem a halem.
