Mužská dvouhra German Open 2017 probíhala ve druhé polovině července 2017. Do singlové soutěže hamburského tenisového turnaje nastoupilo třicet dva hráčů. Obhájcem titulu byl slovenský tenista Martin Kližan, který do turnaje nezasáhl.
Vítězem se stal 30letý nenasazený Argentinec Leonardo Mayer, jenž ve finále zdolal německého hráče Floriana Mayera po třísetovém průběhu 6–4, 4–6 a 6–3. V probíhající sezóně si tak připsal premiérové turnajové vítězství, které představovalo druhý singlový titul na okruhu ATP Tour, když navázal na hamburskou trofej z roku 2014. Vítězný Argeninec, jemuž patřila 138. příčka žebříčku, přitom do hlavní soutěže postoupil až jako šťastný poražený z kvalifikace.[1]
