Harriett Pettifore Brims (1864–1939) byla průkopnice komerční fotografie a fotografka v australském Queenslandu.[1][2]
Životopis
Nejdříve otevřela fotografické studio v Inghamu, Queensland, pak se v roce 1904 přestěhovala do Mareeba, kde založila studio nové, dokud se do třetice v roce 1914 nepřestěhovala do Brisbane. Její fotografická práce poskytuje informace o lidech a místech v průkopnických dobách v severním Queenslandu.[3]
V roce 2018 byla uvedena na výstavě Magnificent Makers ve Státní knihovně v Queenslandu.[4]

Inside the church built by brothers Marcus and William Brims, Mareeba, ca. 1904 Interior view of the church at Mareeba designed and built by Marcus and William Brims, around 1904. Marcus and William were the sons of early Queensland photographer Harriett Brims and joinery owner Donald Gray Brims. The church was demolished in the 1970s. The banner across the arch above the altar reads: I will wash my hands in innocency so will I go to Thine altar.

Timber bound for D. G. Brims' sawmill, Milton, Brisbane, ca. 1915 Timber logs being unloaded from railway trolleys at Milton, Brisbane, around 1915. The timber is probably bound for D. G. Brims and Sons' sawmill and plywood factory at Milton. In the middle distance (immediately above the last pile of logs) is another Brims business, the Brisbane Aircraft and Automotive Engineering workshop on Milton Road. The photograph was taken looking east towards the city, and was captured by early Queensland photographer Harriett Brims, D. G. Brims' wife.
Two women reading on a verandah at Ingham, ca. 1894-1903 Harriett Brims (left), early Queensland photographer, photographed with another woman (her sister?) on the verandah of her home at Ingham. Harriett and her husband and five children lived at Ingham between 1894 and 1903. She operated a small photographic studio from a room attached to their residence.

Steam boat 'Emilie' under construction, Ingham, ca. 1890-1900 Steam boat, the 'Emilie', almost complete with the boiler in place in the centre of the boat. Probably built by Donald Gray Brims, sawmill owner and husband of early female Queensland photographer Harriett Brims. (See also negative numbers 146936 and 146934).
View of Milton, Brisbane, with the Brisbane Aircraft & Automotive Engineering company in the foreground, 1926 View of the Brisbane Aircraft & Automotive Engineering premises, run by D. G. Brims & Sons, on Milton Road?, Milton, in 1926. In the foreground, passengers are embarking on a tram destined for Toowong. Signs on the wall at the right of the image advertise Pelaco Shirts, and Sheftell's Southern Revue, the latter of which was to be performed at the Wintergarden Theatre, season commencing Mon. 25th Oct.: 'Eleven Negro stars in a genuine 1926 snappy, steppy, 'appy?, peppy musical revue'. The photograph was taken by D. G. Brims' wife, early female Queensland photographer, Harriett Brims.
Two women in front of a photographic studio at Ingham This photographic studio appears to be the same premises as that occupied by Harriett Brims' 'Britannia Studio' at Ingham between 1902 and 1903. At the time this photograph was taken, the studio does not seem to be operational - the plaque on the wall to the right of the door reads: 'Agency Liverpool & London & Globe Insurance Co.'. It is possible that Harriett Brims, an early female Queensland photographer, returned to Ingham in later years to photograph her old studio. The words 'Britannia Studio' can be seen faintly coming through the paint on the sign above the bull-nose awning.
