Navy One

Navy One je volací znak jakéhokoliv letadla Námořnictva Spojených států amerických nesoucího na palubě prezidenta Spojených států.[1] Dosud se vyskytl jen jeden takový případ:[2] Lockheed S-3 Viking sériového čísla BuNo 159387 peruti VS-35 „Blue Wolves“, které 1. května 2003 dopravilo George W. Bushe na palubu letadlové lodi USS Abraham Lincoln nacházející se na moři u pobřeží San Diega v Kalifornii.[3] Jeho pilotem byl Commander Skip Lussier, tehdy zástupce velitele VS-35 a kopilotem Lieutenant Ryan Philips.[4]

Tento S-3 byl vyřazen ze služby a od 17. července 2003 vystaven v National Naval Aviation Museum v Pensacole na Floridě.[3]

Letadlo námořnictva, které by přepravovalo viceprezidenta USA, by neslo označení Navy Two.

A U.S. Navy Lockheed S-3B Viking (BuNo 159387) at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Pensacola, Florida (USA). This aircraft made history on 1 May 2003 when the former U.S. president George W. Bush was a passenger during a carrier arrested landing on board the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). It was assigned to sea control squadron VS-35 Sea Wolves, Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14). Just two months later it was accepted by the museum as an exhibit and as at September 2008 can be seen on the backlot tour. It was the first time that a U.S. president arrived on a carrier by plane, and not by ship or helicopter. The S-3B was therefore designated "NAVY ONE" for this flight (in correspondance with the presidential Boeing E-4B "Air Force One" aircraft, which is, however, operated by the USAF).

"Navy 1", a U.S. Navy Lockheed S-3B Viking (BuNo 159387) from sea control squadron VS-35 Blue Wolves lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) on 1 May 2003. The aircraft was carrying the U.S. president George W. Bush who was the first U.S. president land on an aircraft carrier in an airplane making an arrested landing. All other presidents (including Mr. Bush) had used a helicopter. The S-3B 159387 is today preserved at the U.S. Navy National Museum of Naval Aviation at Pensacola, Florida (USA).
