USS Bushnell AS-2 hoists up the bow of Submarine L2 ( SS-41 ) for maintenance during World War 1 in Bantry Bay, Ireland. The Bushnell was renamed USS Sumner AGS-5 in 1940 to allow a newer tender to take the name Bushnell. The "A" was added to L-2 as the British also had a L series of submarines
