Seznam skupin označených za teroristické

Teroristické skupiny jsou organizace které nezákonně používají síly a násilí proti osobám či majetku se záměrem zastrašit nebo donutit vládu, civilní obyvatelstvo či jeho určitou skupinu a tím dosáhnout politických nebo společenských cílů.[1] (definice FBI)

The tricolor flag was introduced in 1906, but after the Islamic Revolution of 1979 the Arabic words 'Allahu akbar' ('God is great'), written in the Kufic script of the Qur'an and repeated 22 times, were added to the red and green strips where they border the white central strip and in the middle is the emblem of Iran (which is a stylized Persian alphabet of the Arabic word Allah ("God")).

The Flags of the World website discussed the validity of this flag after it was displayed as an alleged "flag of Hamas" by Wikipedia in 2007.

According to a 2006 comment:

"The military branch of Hamas has a different flag, green with Shahada on it. Maybe that's why there is a confusion about the Hamas flag. One is white with Hamas emblem on it, and the military branch's flag is green with a shahada? At least, the green flag is there at all protests and demonstrations." (Valentin Poposki, 03 Mar 2006)

Use of this flag was reported as early as 2001:

"Hamas' flag is green (Muslim colour) with Arabic words in white. I saw this flag several times at Hamas demonstrations and at generic anti-Israel events in Palestine. Hamas emblem is here." (Santiago Tazón, 20 Dec 2001)

While this flag has apparently been spotted in Hamas demonstrations since at least 2001, it cannot be identified as "the flag of Hamas". It has rather been carried by Hamas supporters as symbolizing Islam or Islamism, not as an emblem of Hamas as an organization.

"It would be wrong to name the flag as the Hamas flag. Such flags, with the Sha'ada in white on green or black, are used by other Islamic groups and are not unique to Hamas. Therefore it is not the 'Hamas flag' but rather a flag used also by the Hamas." (Dov Gutterman, 29 Mar 2003)

"Kokbayraq" flag, used by the Uyghurs as a symbol of the East Turkestan independence movement. The Chinese government prohibits using the flag within China.

Modern design of the Irish nationalist "Sunburst flag". Based on reports at crwflags.com, although in the designs shown there, the sun's rays are alternating between wavy and straight. This design was spotted in Irish Republican marches in 2006.

"The Flagstaff flag, which is seen being raised in one of the scenes from the film 'Kick Any Stone', depicts a sunburst on a field of St. Patrick's, blue with the tips of sails emerging over the horizon."

20th-century versions of the flag appear to have shown a half-sun "rising" either from the lower edge of the flag (1909) or from a cloud, in either a green or a blue field, or a full sun in the center of the flag, in a green field.[1]

But as it turns out, Wikipedia is in the real world, and this specific design, with the quarter-sun in the lower hoist corner and seven straight rays, originally posted to crwflags.com by Vincent Morley in 1997 and uploaded to Wikipedia in 2007, is now being sold as "the sunburst flag" on mugs and t-shirts.

Variant of the jihadist black flag. This particular version is used by the "Islamic State of Iraq" and by al-Shabaab in Somalia. It shows the shahada in an arrangement that includes the image of the historical "seal of Muhammad" (more precisely, the "seal" design is based on a 1980s facsimile of Ottoman era copies of letters written and sealed by Muhammad, in which the copyists had manually inked the seal impression; the jihadist flags seen in press photographs do not show the seal as circular but in a slightly irregular shape that faithfully mimicks one particular such specimen; see w:seal of Muhammad for details).

Also note that the representation of this seal formerly uploaded to commons but since deleted is merely a graphist's "fictionalisation" of what the seal might have looked like; the actual artefact on exhibit as the "seal of Muhammad" in Istanbul is rectangular)
