Toto je seznam států a území v Africe.
Afrika je po Asii druhý největší a nejlidnatější kontinent na světě. Včetně přilehlých ostrovů zaujímá plochu 30 221 532 km², což představuje asi 6 % povrchu planety Země a 20,4 % plochy souše. V roce 2005 zde žilo v 53 státech přes 900 milionů lidí (14 % světové populace). Kontinent je na severu vymezen Středozemním mořem, na severovýchodě Rudým mořem a Suezským průplavem, na jihovýchodě Indickým oceánem a na západě Atlantským oceánem. Západní Sahara a všechny suverénní africké státy kromě Maroka jsou členy Africké unie, na jejímž území v současnosti žije 895 800 000 obyvatel.
V následující tabulce jsou uvedeny všechny nezávislé africké státy a vybraná závislá a sporná území. U každého státu (území) je dále uvedena vlajka, znak, oficiální název v češtině a místních úředních jazycích, mezinárodní poznávací značka, hlavní město (správní středisko), největší město, hlava státu, měna (včetně kódu ISO), počet obyvatel v roce 2009, rozloha a mapa, na níž je daný stát (území) vyznačen.

- ↑ Po vypuknutí somálské občanské války v roce 1991 se v roce 1998 v Garoowe konala národní ústavní konference, která trvala tři měsíce. Zúčastnili se jí místní politici, tradiční stařešinové („Issimové“), členové podnikatelské komunity, intelektuálové a další zástupci občanské společnosti. Vznikl autonomní stát Puntland, aby poskytoval služby obyvatelstvu, nabízel bezpečnost, usnadňoval obchod a spolupracoval s domácími i mezinárodními partnery. Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed sloužil jako zakládající prezident nově vzniklého státu.

Stát byl vyhlášen v roce 1991, kdy v Somálsku vypukla občanská válka, a od té doby se mu podařilo vybudovat fungující státní orgán s demokraticky zvoleným prezidentem a parlamentem. Navzdory tomu však Somaliland, okupující bývalé Britské Somálsko, nezískal uznání na mezinárodní scéně. To se však od roku 2024 po dohodě s Etiopií změnilo.

This version has very stylized trees, and the gold is much darker. Also the gold doesn't extend to the rays of the sun.
