Igla

Třída LCU Mk IV jsou vyloďovací čluny indického námořnictva. Mezi jejich úkoly patří provádění vyloďovacích operací a humanitární mise. Celkem bylo postaveno osm jednotek této třídy. Do služby byly přijaty v letech 2017–2021.

Stavba

Rozestavěná šestá jednotka třídy

Vývoj a stavba osmi jednotek této třídy byly objednány v září 2011.[2] Všechny navrhla a staví indická loděnice Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) v Kalkatě.[3] Prototypové plavidlo L-51 bylo indickému námořnictvu předáno se 14měsíčním zpožděním dne 30. září 2016.[1] Do konce roku 2018 bylo do služby přijato 5 jednotek. Poslední plavidlo bylo do služby přijato v březnu 2021.

Konstrukce

Posádku tvoří 56 osob. Plavidla mohou až přepravovat 165 vojáků a další náklad o hmotnosti až 145 tun (jeden tank či čtyři obrněné transportéry aj.).[1] Jejich trup je postaven z ocelové slitiny AH40 a nástavby z hliníkové slitiny 5083-H112.[1] Na plošině před můstkem jsou umístěna dvě 30mm kanóny CRN-91 s elektro-optickým systémem řízení palby Bharat Electronics EON-51.[9] Posádka je vybavena přenosnými protiletadlovými raketovými komplety Igla.[1] Plavidla jsou vybavena jedním malým člunem a jedním rychlým člunem RHIB na zádi. Pohonný systém tvoří dva diesely MTU 16V 4000 M53, každý o výkonu 1840 kW, pohánějící přes převodovky Reintjes WAF 763P dva lodní šrouby s pevnými lopatkami Fundivisa. Nejvyšší rychlost dosahuje 15 uzlů.[2] Dosah je 1500 námořních mil při rychlosti 12 uzlů.[1]

Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) has conducted the second edition of Defence of Andaman & Nicobar Islands 2019 (DANX-19), a large scale joint services exercise from 14 to 18 October 2019. Spanning over a period of five days, components of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard carried out mobilisation and field manoeuvres to validate defensive plans of Headquarters ANC towards pursuance of the Command’s responsibility, namely ensuring territorial integrity of the A&N Islands. In addition to internal forces from ANC, accretional forces from Mainland comprising ships and aircraft, Special Forces from the newly formed Armed Forces Special Operations Division, also participated in this edition.

The sixth ship of LCU MK IV project, was launched on 12 March 2016 at an impressive ceremony at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd, Kolkata. In accordance with the traditions, invocations from Atharva Veda were recited and Smt Seema Verma, wife of Vice Admiral Bimal Kumar Verma, AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command, applied ‘Kumkum’ on the ship’s stem. She, thereafter, named the ship as ‘LCU-L56’, wished the ship good luck and launched the vessel. Rear Admiral AK Verma (Retd), VSM, Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE Ltd, commenced the proceedings with a formal welcome, which was followed by an address by the Chief Guest, Vice Admiral Bimal Kumar Verma. LCU L-56 is the sixth vessel of the series of eight Landing Craft Utility Ships being designed and built by M/s GRSE for the Indian Navy. The ship can be deployed for multi-role activities like beaching operations, Humanitarian and Disaster Relief operations and evacuation from distant islands. The first ship of the class ‘LCU-L51’ was launched on 12 March 2014 and is presently undergoing sea trials at GRSE. The vessel is likely to be delivered shortly to the Indian Navy.
