Tengri

Slovo Tengri ve staroturečtině, zapsané orchonským písmem (čte se zprava doleva jako t²ṅr²i)

Tengri je bůh nebes, nejvyšší z bohů, v původním náboženství uralských a altajských národů, resp. turkotatarských a ugrofinských, zvaném Tengrismus. Tengri je stále uctíván u některých národů na Sibiři, kde v souvislosti s jeho kultem je uctíváno několik hor, jež jsou pro vyznavače tohoto náboženství posvátné.

transcription: UZAG²UG² : T²NGR²I : S¹R¹A : Y¹G¹Z : Y²R² : QIL¹NTQUD¹A

interpretation: Öze Kök Teŋіri asïra yaγïz Jer qïlïntaquda ...

translation: "When the blue sky above and the brown earth below were created ..."

(note, the numerals ¹ and ² in the above transcription scheme indicate back and front vowels, respectively, intrinsic in the consonant signs)
