Demonstration of Ampère's force law. The force acts between тhe magnet and the wire through which electric current flows. In the first case the magnetic field is directed downward, the direction of the current is perpendicular to the magnetic field, from left to right. According to the Fleming's left hand rule, force is created, which acts on the wire in the direction perpendicular to magnetic field and current. It makes the wire to roll. If the direction of the magnetic field is changed, the force direction changes also. The same effect has the change of the direction of current. Prepared, performed and explained by Prof. Oliver Zajkov at the Physics Institute at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Macedonia.
