Wimbledon White. This car is the very first production Mustang ever built, photographed at the 50th anniversary of the Mustang at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the car normally resides at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Lee Iacocca, Ford's General Manager, had always invisioned a small sports car to be the next hot item, so Ford introduced the new Falcon based 'Pony Car' the Mustang in April, 1964. For the start only Hardtops and Convertibles were available, the fastback in September, Also at the start engines were; 170 cu in 6 cylinder or 260 cu in V8, after mid year, the 289 V8 was introduced.
