1971 US aerogram issued to accommodate postal rate increase from 13 cents to 15. Significant error with the omission of the word "AEROGRAMME" which meant this technically did not meet the U.P.U. standards and some foreign governments did not accept the lower aerogram rate. After a printing of 28 million copies, the same design was issued with the proper wording in December, 1971. Back inscription: "Do not use tape or stickers to seal - No enclosures permitted".
