Lt Col Lance Wilkins, 82d Aerial Targets Squadron commander, speaks at the dedication ceremony of the BQM-167 Skeeter display. The workhorse of air-to-air testing and evaluation is this Subscale Aerial Target. A reusable target, the drone can be either land or water recovered. Over the life of the BQM-167 program over 1650 weapons have been employed against only 202 of these targets. This display was dedicated on April 15, 2013 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the last time an American serviceman was killed by an enemy air attack.
