Comics depicting unsuccessful peace negotiations between Jules Favre and Otto von Bismarck during Franco-Prussian War. Favre offers money for peace, but Bismarck insists on annexing the border provinces of Alsace and Lorraine. As Favre is not (yet) ready to surrender them, there is no agreement.
