Charles Deforest Fredricks (1823-1894). Fredricks owned photography studios, in Paris opened in 1853, followed by a studio in New York opened in 1855, with another studio in Havana in 1857. In Cuba, Fredricks works with several partners including photographers Georges Penabert (1825-1903), Augusto Daries and Samuel Cohner. The French Georges Penabert and Augusto Daries joined Fredricks in his studios in New York and Paris. He traveled with Alexander B. Weeks, Georges Penabert and Saturnino Masoni (1826-1892) in several countries of South America in 1851. Fredricks also trained other photographers, i.e., Antonio Pozzo (1829-1910).
