The French aircraft carrier Bois Belleau (R97), formerly USS Belleau Wood (CVL-24), is moved to a berth at the Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia (USA), to load aircraft in December 1953, shortly before her departure for France. Among the ships in the background are the battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62), the heavy cruiser USS Albany (CA-123) and the dock landing ship USS Casa Grande (LSD-13).
