Popis:
Vector based (SVG) version of Georgia Tech's seal. The seal was approved by Georgia Tech for use on April 24, 1918, and originated with Professor Francis P. Smith, head of the Department of Architecture until 1922. The seal is Georgia Tech's oldest trademark, and is a registered trademark of Georgia Tech through the Georgia Board of Regents. The current version of the Seal was approved for use in August 2021.[1]
The center of the seal consists of a shield bearing the old university gate in Athens, a symbol adopted by the University System of Georgia and by the State itself. Above the shield burns an eternal flame symbolizing knowledge. The shield is surrounded by the gearwheel of technology. The banner across the bottom of the shield proclaims the Institute’s motto: progress and service. The words “Seal of the Georgia Institute of Technology” and the school’s date of founding, 1885, encircle the design. (Prior to the Institute’s official name change in 1948, the inscription read "Georgia School of Technology.")

The Seal has been traditionally reserved for formal communications.

In addition, Georgia Tech places conditions on the use of its registered trademarks, governed by the Brand Identity Standards Policy[2]. All usage guidelines are specified in the Official Georgia Tech Brand Guide[3].
