Photograph of Mrs Hélène Standish, wife of Henry Noailles Widdrington Standish. Madame Standish was a French aristocrat who had a relationship with Edward, Prince of Wales, on his occasional visits to Paris. Her husband was the grandson of the Duke of Mouchy. Hélène Standish is one of the figures of Parisian socialite and aristocratic life and also serves as a model for Marcel Proust for his character of duchess of Guermantes.
