View of Leander class Light Cruiser, HMNZS Achilles who served with the British Home Fleet as HMS Achilles until she was transferred to the en:New Zealand Division on 24 March 1936. She took part in the en:Battle of the River Plate against the German pocket ship Panzerschiffe Admiral where 4 of her crew were killed. HMNZS was decommissioned on 17 September 1946 and returned to the en:Royal Navy. She was sold to India on 5 July 1948, and renamed Delhi before being decommissioned by the Indian Army on 30 June 1978.

Novozélandské královské námořnictvo je námořní složka novozélandských obranných sil. Samostatným námořnictvem se stalo roku 1941. Cílem námořnictva je obrana této ostrovní země a jejích zájmů.
