Generálmajor je vojenská hodnost používaná v mnoha státech. Dle oficiálních standardů NATO je tato hodnost označena zkratkou OF-7. V zemích, kde není používána hodnost brigádního generála či jiného příslušného ekvivalentu, se jedná o nejnižší generálskou hodnost. Tak tomu je i v mnoha zemích východní Evropy. V zemích Commonwealthu, ve Spojených státech amerických či v České republice se pak jedná o druhou nejnižší generálskou hodnost. V jiných zemích pak hodnosti generálmajora odpovídá hodnost divizního generála. Ve výjimečných případech jako je tomu například v Brazílii či Chile této hodnosti odpovídá hodnost brigádního generála.
