The "Mönchengladbacher Münster" photographed from the Abbey garden. The Mönchengladbach Münster was the Abbey Church of the Abbey of Gladbach until 1802. The construction was started in the year 974. The Church was elevated to the 1000-year anniversary of the Abbey was founded in the year 1974 of the Pope to a Basilica minor. The Cathedral was built in the Romanesque style with Gothic choir is a significant building and monument in the Rhineland.
