The grimoire itself does not call this symbol a 'pentacle', but rather it is only esotericarchive's commentary that calls it a 'pentacle'. Also, unlike traditional pentacles, this symbol is not hung from the neck as a medal or sewn to the chest of one's garment, but rather it is traced in the air and drawn upon the ground. The tracing of this pentagrammic symbol in the air later inspired the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn to invent the "invoking pentagram" and "banishing pentagram".

Pentagram je prastarý předkřesťanský symbol ve tvaru pěticípé hvězdy, kterému se přisuzuje magická ochranná funkce. Jako pentagram se označuje pouze pěticípá hvězda nakreslená pěti přímými tahy, je-li navíc opatřena kruhem, je označována jako pentakl. Slovo pentagram pochází z řeckého slova πεντάγραμμον (pentagrammon), znamenajícího přibližně pět přímek.
