Korunovace českých králů byla událost mimořádného státního a duchovního významu, při které byl král během korunovační mše arcibiskupem pomazán svatými oleji a korunován. Korunovace představovala symbolické potvrzení a uznání nového krále, jeho spojení se zemí, jíž vládl a také zdůrazňovala duchovní přesah jeho úřadu. Společně s králem byla většinou korunována i jeho manželka, pokud byl král ženatý. Oženil-li se král až po vlastní korunovaci, jeho žena většinou podstoupila korunovační obřad samostatně. První český král Vratislav byl nejprve korunován v dubnu 1085 císařem Jindřichem IV. a v červnu následujícího roku byl společně s manželkou pomazán a korunován v Praze z rukou arcibiskupa trevírského. Poslední korunovaný český král Ferdinand V. byl korunován 7. září 1836 v Praze. Korunovace jeho manželky královny Marie Anny Savojské 12. září 1836 byla poslední královskou korunovací v Českých zemích. .. pokračovat ve čtení
