Crewmen watch from the flight deck as a RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missile is launched from a Mark 25 Basic Point Defense Missile System (BPDMS) launcher on the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CV-41).
Note: The date given "1 January 1993" has to be incorrect, as Midway was decommissioned on 11 April 1992. The Grumman KA-6D Intruder (BuNo 151818), visible in the background, was assigned to Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115) "Eagles" with the squadron code "NF-517" aboard the Midway between 1981 and 1983.
