Introduced, warm-season to yearlong-green, perennial herb; aerial stems annual, to 1 m tall. Leaves are pinnate, 8–20 cm long and form a rosette; leaflets number 9–21, and are ovate, toothed and hairless; stipules are leafy, stem-clasping and toothed. Flowerheads are globose to ovoid spikes, 10–15 mm long. Flowers are unisexual; sepals 4, petals 0. Female flowers are borne above the male flowers. Male flowers have 4 stamens, sometimes with 1 or 2 stigmas. Female flowers have 2 carpels and sometimes 1 or 2 stamens.
Fruiting hypanthium are 3–4 mm long, 4-ribbed and strongly pitted between the ribs. A native of Europe, it is common on the Tablelands, especially along roadsides. A minor environmental weed. Easily mistaken for native Acaena species when not in flower; fruits of these species are spiny.Relevantní obrázky
