T-60 ‘A - 2317’ - Patriot Museum, Kubinka (24524755458)
Soviet WW2 era Light Tank Designer:- Nicholas Astrov Manufacturer:- Various Built:- 1941 to 1942 Total Production:- 6,292 Main Armament:- 20mm TNSh cannon Designed to replace the amphibious T-38 scout tank. The following quote from www.tanks-encyclopedia.com seems to sum up the T-60:- “Whilst such a large number were produced, it was hated by all who had to deal with it – all except the Germans, who found it to be a substandard and underwhelming opponent, and a rather nice ammunition carrier or gun towing tractor, once captured. As a result of its poor armor, substandard armament and sluggish performance, it was more dangerous to its crews than anybody else, earning it the title Bratskaya Mogila na Dovoikh, literally: “a brother’s grave for two.” Antonov converted one into a flying tank, which was designated the A-40. The tank was attached to a huge set of biplane wings with twin boom tail. While it was successfully flown, it would still not have improved the characteristics of T-60 itself, however it arrived in battle! This is probably the only surviving example and is on display in Hall 9 of the Patriot Museum Complex. Park Patriot, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.

T-60T-60 byl sovětský lehký tank produkovaný v letech 1941–1942. Celkem bylo vyrobeno asi 6 728 těchto strojů. Navíc neměl zrovna ideální jízdní vlastnosti pro těžký terén a chyběla mu vysílačka. Těžké ztráty v bojích s německými tanky mu přinesly přezdívku „společný hrob pro dva“. .. pokračovat ve čtení
