An M-8 "Greyhound" armored scout car of the US Army passes under the Arc de Triomphe after the liberation of Paris on August 29 1944. The identifying numbers of the vehicle were censored for security reasons, making it difficult to identify the unit. The image is captioned here (dead link) as showing a vehicle of Troop B, 102nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, which was attached to the French 2nd Armored Division. Both the 102nd Cavalry and 20th Infantry were present at the liberation and in the parade that followed on the 29th.

M8 Greyhound je šestikolový lehce pancéřovaný obrněný automobil, který byl přijat do výzbroje Armády Spojených států amerických s oficiálním označením Car Armored Light M8 v roce 1942. První sériové vozy začaly sjíždět z výrobní linky firmy Ford počátkem roku 1943. Ve stejném roce bylo do výzbroje přijato velitelské a spojovací vozidlo s označením Car Armored Utility M10, které bylo odvozeno z typu M8. Protože označení M10 již bylo použito pro stíhač tanků M10 Wolverine, bylo označení změněno na M20.
