Jonestown byla sektářská osada vybudovaná na severu Guyany sektou Chrám lidu. Záměrně byla postavena v hlubokém pralese daleko od jakékoliv civilizace a dokonce i vodních toků, aby byla co nejvíce izolovaná a nedostupná.
