he spring of 1813 he disposed of considerablymore than 200,000 men ; half of this force was com-posed of Spanish troops, for the most part in theeastern provinces ; the other half comprised his Brit-ish and Portuguese army, from 70,000 to 80,000 fight-ing men, in the highest state of efficiency for war,and besides some 30,000 Spaniards, better soldiersthan most of the levies of their race. Thomas Graham (generál)

Thomas Graham, 1. baron Lynedoch byl britský generál a významný účastník napoleonských válek. Pocházel ze skotské šlechtické rodiny a původně se věnoval správě rodových statků. Do armády vstoupil až v pětačtyřiceti letech po úmrtí manželky. Jako dobrovolník vynikl ve válkách s revoluční Francií, během napoleonských válek se vyznamenal na Pyrenejském poloostrově, kde se několikrát prosadil i jako samostatný velitel v bitvách. V roce 1814 obdržel titul barona a vstoupil do Sněmovny lordů, v roce 1821 dosáhl hodnosti generála.
