Yehuda Kopolevitz Almog - Pioneer and leader of Gdud Ha'Avoda, a socialist Zionist work group. Founder of the potash mining industry in the Dead Sea and of Kibbutz Beit HaArava. Was the first Tamar head of the council. Kibbutz Almog near the Dead Sea is named after him.
