Balkans Rail Trip, Autumn 2013 - Day Four

After a long bus journey thanks to inaccurate information published on the Serbian Railways website, I eventually ended up here at Prahovo Pristanište. This station is one of two in the small town of Prahovo, Pristanište means docks which is fairly evident from the photo. The port is actually on the River Danube and at this point separates Serbia and Romania which can be seen in background to the right.

The line sees some freight traffic as well as three return passenger trains per day with one further service terminating at Negotin a few kilometres further south.

Seen here on 26 September 2013, former Swedish Railways class Y1 railcar now numbered 710.005 has arrived on train 2774, 15:20 Zaječar to Prahovo Pristanište.

Note again, due to poor data stored on the Flickr map, the location given is not correct & represents a town on the opposite side of the river in Romania.
