Bigsweir Bridge Toll House - plaque on wall. The text reads: This Toll House and the adjacent bridge were built around 1829-1835 on behalf of the St. Arvan's - Redbrook Turnpike Trust. The building was renovated in 1981 by young persons aged 16-18 years employed by Gwent County Council Planning Department under the Youth Opportunities Programme sponsored by the Manpower Services Commission, with financial assistance from the Welsh Development Agency.
