The stained glass windows in the Heimhofer Family Chapel of the Freiburg Minster are copies made by Fritz Geiges in 1895. The original panes dating to 1517 have been attributed to Hans Baldung Grien and are in Freiburg's Augustinermuseum. Jakob Heimhofer (also spelled Heimhoffer) was mayor of Freiburg as well as a minster caretaker, and he also worked in the service of Emperor Maximilian. He died in 1514, and his grave is located in the choir chapel.

In the left-hand panel, the donor Jakob Heimhofer and his wife Verena, née Schmidin, are depicted wearing gray-blue mantles and kneeling behind their family coats of arms. The picture of Heimhofer is painted like a portrait and resembles the painting of him on the back side of the high altar painted by Hans Baldung Grien.

The right-hand panel depicts the Lamentation of Christ. Joseph of Arimathea, John the Evangelist, Mary, and Mary Magdalene kneel lamenting over the bent body of Christ before a cross with brown woodgrain and a finely drawn cityscape of Jerusalem. The two panels are united by a shared background landscape and an upper arch made of branches and leaves with weeping angels.
