Arabian Gulf (Aug. 26, 2004) - Military Sealift Command (MSC) combat stores ship USNS Spica (T-AFS 9) conducts a vertical replenishment at sea with the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). Kennedy and Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) are operating in the 5TH Fleet area of responsibility, conducting missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Units in the Kennedy Carrier Strike Group are working closely with Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Iraqi forces to bring stability to the sovereign government of Iraq.
