Public domain According to the Romanian Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996 with further amendments Chapter 3 Article 9 the following documents shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright:
  • (a) the ideas, theories, concepts, scientific discoveries, procedures, working methods, or mathematical concepts as such and inventions, contained in a work, whatever the manner of the adoption, writing, explanation or expression thereof;
  • (b) official texts of a political, legislative, administrative or judicial nature, and official translations thereof;
  • (c) official symbols of the State, public authorities and organizations, such as armorial bearings, seals, flags, emblems, shields, badges and medals;
  • (d) means of payment;
  • (e) news and press information;
  • (f) simple facts and data.

Also, according to Chapter 10 Article 85 Paragraph 2,

  • The photographs of letters, deeds, documents of any kind, technical drawings and other similar papers shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.

Article 8. Works Not Protected by Copyright

  • Copyright shall not extend to:
    • a) Official documents (laws, court decisions, etc.) or to the official translations thereof;
    • b) State emblems and official signs (flags, armorial bearings, decorations, monetary signs, etc.);
    • c) Folklore expressions;
    • d) Daily news and facts of simple informational nature.

Public domain This file is a Moldovan or Soviet work that was first published in USSR or Moldova and is now in the public domain because its term of copyright has expired under Moldova Law. Art. 17. (Law no. 1268-XV), ([1]), ([2]) (details). This work meets either of the following conditions:
  • This is a photographic or cinematographic work and fifty years have passed since the year of its production.
  • This is another type of work and fifty years have passed since the year of the creator's (if known) death.

Term of Copyright

3: Copyright shall have effect throughout the lifetime of the author and for 50 years after his death computed as from January 1 of the year following that of his death, except in the cases referred to in paragraphs (4), (5) and (7) of this Article.

4: Copyright in audiovisual works shall be protected for 50 years and copyright in works of applied art for 25 years computed from the day of lawful publication of such works or from the day of their creation if they have not been published, or computed as from January 1 of the year following that of publication or of creation of the work.

5: Copyright in an anonymous or pseudonymous work shall have effect for 50 years after publication of the work computed as from January 1 of the year following that of publication of the work, except with regard to the works referred to in paragraph (4) of this Article. If the author of an anonymous or pseudonymous work reveals his identity or if his identity becomes obvious during that period of time, the provisions of paragraphs (3) and (4) of this Article shall apply.

6: A publisher who has lawfully published an anonymous or pseudonymous work shall be deemed under this Law to represent the author and to be empowered, to that end, to assert the rights and legitimate interests of the author. Copyright in a posthumous work shall be protected for 50 years as from the day of first publication of the work, with the proviso that publication shall have taken place within 30 years following the death of the author; this provision shall not apply to the works referred to in paragraph (4) of this Article.

7: Copyright in a work of joint authorship shall be protected until the death of the last surviving joint author and, after his death, for 50 years computed from January 1 of the year following that of his death.

8: On expiry of the term of copyright, works shall fall into the public domain.

Ruská občanská válka

Ruská občanská válka byl ozbrojený konflikt mezi bolševiky, kteří se snažili v Rusku vybudovat socialistický stát, a vnitřně velmi heterogenní opozicí, od monarchistů až po liberály a umírněné socialisty. Podnětem k válce bylo uchvácení moci bolševiky 7. listopadu 1917 a vytvoření sovětské vlády v čele s Leninem. Boje začaly na přelomu let 1917/1918 a skončily vítězstvím bolševiků v roce 1920, po uzavření řady dohod s odcházejícími československými legionáři. Bezprostředním důsledkem bojů byl katastrofální hladomor v Povolží, naprostý hospodářský rozvrat a mezinárodní izolace Ruska, z dlouhodobé perspektivy pak nastolení jedné z nejtvrdších diktatur světa, která se zhroutila až po polovině osmdesátých let 20. století s nástupem Michaila Gorbačova a Perestrojky. .. pokračovat ve čtení

Oděská sovětská republika

Oděská sovětská republika byla krátce existující státní útvar na území Chersonské a Besarabské gubernie v období po Velké říjnové socialistické revoluci. Byla vyhlášena 31. ledna 1918 v Oděse koalicí bolševiků, anarchistů a eserů v čele s V. Judovským. Nová vláda prohlásila, že neuznává ukrajinskou sovětskou vládu, ale ruskou sovětskou vládu v Petrohradě. 6. února se od ní oddělila Moldavská demokratická republika. Po svém vzniku vedla Oděská sovětská republika válku proti Rumunsku, Německu a Rakousku-Uhersku. Během března téhož roku byla obsazena nepřátelskými vojsky a zanikla. .. pokračovat ve čtení
